How it Works

Pittsburgh Makeup Artist, Bridal Makeup Artist, Moriah E Beauty - by Carlie Gabrelcik Photography

Start by filling out my inquiry form, then we can chat via email or set up a phone call if you'd prefer!

For weddings, I do require a $50 retainer fee and signed contract to book your date. Once you are certain you would like to get booked, I send both over to you! As soon as they are received your date is officially in the system and we are ready to talk details.

Regular appointments for in studio/on location are much simpler to book, and I can put the appointment in my system once I have your information and confirm the date, time, and location. Payment is taken the day of, and is accepted via card or cash (square reader used).

Booking

Additional Artist

  • When should I book for my wedding?

I've started to book up dates anywhere between 8 months before and over a year prior! I do take some last minute bookings if the availability is there, but the sooner is always better when reserving your makeup artist.

  • Is there a minimum # of people to book?

When it comes to my Saturday bookings, I do have a minimum of 4 people (Bride+3). Weddings are always my priority for weekend dates!

If you don't know your confirmed number of people for makeup when booking, just start at the minimum and we will add on from there once we know more for you!

  • What should I expect after I am officially booked?

Immediately after, we can schedule your Bridal Preview (if you are interested)! I tend to do a bunch of check in's regarding your booking details, makeup look, headcount, etc. We may become besties!

  • Do you travel for out of state or destination weddings?

I am always willing to travel, but am somewhat limited due to the amount of bookings already in Pittsburgh. If interested in booking destination, I highly recommend contacting 12+ months in advance so the entire weekend is blocked off for travel! Costs may include but are not limited to mileage, tolls, airfare, hotel, etc.

If within driving distance from 15301, I do charge my travel fee of $0.55/mile over 60 miles round trip.

  • How do I know when it's best to add on an additional artist?

If your headcount exceeds 7-8 people OR you are on more of a time constraint in the morning... an additional artist is the perfect solution!

  • What is the fee for an additional makeup artist?

It is a $50 fee, and possibly extra for their travel as well (same as the regular travel fee, adjusted to the artist's ZIP).

  • How many services can be accommodated between you and another artist?

Depending on the kind of timeframe you have, we can accommodate anywhere from 8 to 15 people at most.

Products

Bridal Previews

  • Do you have products for sensitive skin?

I absolutely do! I carry many products specifically with sensitivities in mind - for every single step of the makeup look!

    (Fragrance free, hypoallergenic, etc.)

  • What brands do you carry in your kit?

I carry a mix of high end and drugstore brands in my kit. This list is just a small compilation of what is featured!

    - Makeup By Mario, Patrick Ta, Natasha Denona, Lorac, Viseart, Make Up Forever, Charlotte Tilbury

    - Temptu, Face Atelier, Estee Lauder, MAC, Juvia's Place, Tower 28, Pat Mcgrath Labs

    - Maybelline, Loreal, ELF, Milani, NYX

  • Do you only carry a certain type of lash?

I do mainly carry strip lashes, however I do keep individuals with me as well! There are a variety of styles in my kit, though I do tend to use more natural styles.

  • Is it better to have Airbrush or Traditional foundation?

You can get an airbrushed, long lasting look with either option! I love to use the airbrush foundation as an extra layer of coverage, and to seal in the foundation already applied! Or just using airbrush as a very light coverage. When in doubt, it is something we can decide at the appointment!

  • When is the best time to book my Bridal Preview?

We can get scheduled as soon as your date is booked! I typically book Bridal Previews anywhere between 2 months to 4 months before your date - this way there is still some buffer time before the wedding, but not too much where you forget what your makeup felt like.

  • How should I prepare for my Bridal Preview?

I always recommend looking for a few photos as inspiration for your makeup - Check Instagram or pinterest, and save between 3-4 to your camera roll to bring in! Just be cautious of edits/blurring!

Be sure to arrive with clean skin (no makeup, your regular skincare is ok). If you want to take an extra step, add in an overnight or hydrating mask!

If you will be having a Spray Tan for your wedding day, line up a trial appointment around the same time so that you will get the best idea of the overall look!

Also consider your hair color and if that will be changing drastically before your wedding day.

  • Can I bring people with me to my Bridal Preview?

This appointment is all about YOU - when too many people are in the room, the opinions can start to shift focus from your own to theirs.

That being said, I only allow one additional person to come with you to your preview so all focus can stay on you!

  • Am I able to have a Bridal Preview prior to booking?

Bridal Previews are reserved only for those who have booked with me and sent their signed contract/retainer fee.
